Maharashtra school opening date: Classes 5 to 8 to resume from January 27 in state, not in Mumbai

 Subsequent to staying shut for more than 10 months in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, schools will return for Classes 5 to 8 in Maharashtra from January 27, state Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said on Friday. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), notwithstanding, said that schools and universities in Mumbai will remain shut "till additional requests". 


Schools and junior universities for Classes 9 to 12 had resumed in pieces of the state recently dependent on the COVID-19 circumstance in particular territories. "I have educated Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray that schools can be returned for Classes 5 to 8 from January 27," the clergyman said. Neighborhood specialists including region authorities, city magistrates and area common specialists should survey the ground circumstance prior to accepting an approach resuming schools and universities, Gaikwad added.
